Catherine Anyanwu

LL.B. (Hons), B.L., LL.M.,

Associate

Catherine is an associate lawyer at Koskie | Law. She brings a strong mix of litigation, advisory, and research experience to the firm, with a particular interest in family law, civil disputes, and access to justice.

Before joining Koskie | Law, Catherine worked as a Legal Service Provider with the Student Wellness Centre at the University of Saskatchewan, where she researched and developed ways to improve legal services for students and helped identify and address gaps in access to justice on campus.

Catherine previously served with Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Justice in Regina, first as a student-at-law and later as Crown Counsel in the Legal Services Division. In that role, she represented the Ministry in court on support enforcement matters, negotiated settlements, drafted court orders and legal memoranda, and regularly advised self-represented litigants. During her articles, she completed secondments with a private firm in Saskatoon—assisting with wills, corporate work, contracts, and real estate transactions—and with the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal, where she prepared appeal summaries and conducted research on a wide range of criminal, administrative, constitutional, and civil issues.

Catherine is committed to community service and practical legal education. She has volunteered with the Ministry of Justice’s Family Law Help Sessions in Saskatoon, presenting on divorce, parenting, support, and property division, and helping individuals understand court processes and connect with appropriate resources.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria, a Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School, and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. She was admitted to the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 2021.
